Just wanted to give an update now that I've got the new preamp installed. Very happy with this sounds I'm getting out of the Roscoe now. Took it out last weekend and played it on four different gigs with three different bands. Country, Pop/rock/soul. and my Billy Joel tribute band. I'm getting a great old school Fender P sound with the front pickup in passive, and a nice modern sound with both pickups in active. It's also a couple pounds lighter than my Fender and my Stingray so that's definitely a plus.

Also I soak my strings in denatured alcohol too. Not a matter of being cheap it's a matter of convenience. Fortunately despite playing outdoors in South Florida frequently I don't need to change strings that often but they will get full of gunk before they start going bad. A day of soaking cleans all that out and I get some more time out of them. It's like eight bucks for can at Home Depot or Walmart and I just soak them for a day in a Tupperware container.

I wouldn't have a headless bass for my use. I just don't like them at all.

I didn't like headless either...until Roscoe did one. I think the headless Century looks really good. I'm not as big a fan of the LG and SKB styles.

WOW! If that was a 5 string, I would have a serious issue on my hands.

Well, I just finished doing something to a bass that I've only thought to do before but didn't, and that's change out the bridge!! Drilling into a bass just makes me nervous, but the is job done. Now my two previous non-adjustable 19mm string spacing basses are now adjustable 18mm.

Did Roscoe run out of wood for the back of that headless? I was just about to buy it until I noticed that back!

I think that it is kinda cool. It follows the wedge neck design IMO. My LG that I recently picked up has the same look with the ash body.

I guess, but it seems Roscoe could have used the same wood patterns for the wings.

I know, I know. Campbems standup comedy is 2nd to none but you can’t blame a guy for trying.
I’m gust glad he found those Devon basses. At the rate he was going he would have broken my record for the most different Roscoe’s ever owned by a TB’er, by the beginning of this summer!
That’s about my only claim to fame!

I think your title for most Roscoe basses owned by a TB'er is safe for a long time! At the rate Shane was receiving and shipping basses there wasn't sufficient time spent with any of them to qualify as 'ownership'!
He was more like a transportation hub or relay post.
