Roscoe Club

:bassist:
I absolutely love this Roscoe bass as I played it with our band practice at church. It cuts effortlessly and the tone is to die for. I really like the Mahogany and Wenge with these Bart’s. I thought I would Change the Aguilar Preamp our to a BART but I’m not touching it. Best sounding bass I’ve used since becoming bass player for them in the past year.

Just inquiring...
For those with recent new builds, did you deal with Roscoe directly, at a discounted price? I have been contemplating my "forever" bass and may return to Roscoe since my favorite builder has recently retired. You can reply by private conversation if you like.

I hope we don’t see it in the classifieds. Beautiful!

I remember why I quit posting in this thread now.

LOL

Don't let 'em get to you Shane. Just prove 'em wrong!;)

Hey, but if you do decide to sell one or both your Roscoe's, just remember that it took me 33 Roscoe's before I decided to call it quits and keep number 34!:D

... but it sure was a fun ride!:bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist:......:bassist:......:roflmao:

I played a bunch of basses the last couple weeks. Mostly your standard, run of the mill stuff ranging from $650 - $2,200 or so. Nothing made me think this is the bass that will de-thrown my Roscoe. They didn't feel right. Didn't sound as good. Too heavy. Nothing looked as nice.

Sometimes I need weekends like this, just to re-affirm my feelings about my bass. I also put on new strings - my secret GAS antacid.

I put TI Jazz flats on my Century PJ on Sunday, along with a preamp swap (from a OBP-2 to a Bart 3-band). Different flavors of awesome. Way better Motown P sound to my ears with my rig, even before I went from rounds to flats.

Yeah, the TI's have a great sound. You should also try a set of La Bella Deep Talking Flats (if you haven't). Definitely old school flat sound!

Well you "I can only play a 5 string" guys will be glad to know that for at least this week I have to agree with you. I was asked to fill in at my new church this weekend and one of the songs would be impossible to play without the low B and D (a very contemporary version of "Psalm 34"). It would totally destroy the feel and sound of the song to play it an octave up. And man does the Roscoe low B kill it! :bassist:
They're also doing a big band version of "Count Your Blessings" at 140 BPM that has a killer walking bass part that would sound great on my P-bass but I just don't feel comfortable trying to make a switch on stage. I guess for that one the low B will make a great thumb rest!
I forgot how much work it was to have to learn 5-6 songs on a short week. I need to hurry up and retire!
