This was the influence for the bass. I basically told keith to make me this bass but in 34” scale. There was a also a PJ6 Century Std. that was at Rocket Music with the same finish/wood combo that was also the inspiration for this.

I just got my first one here at the store the other day. Wow, boatloads of bottom, and really easy to sculpt with the MG-800 head. It's also one of Jeff's slanted designs, so it's a great choice for a base upon which to put another cabinet.
I’m thinking a stacked BA10-2, BA12-3 on a BA15-3 powered by the MG800 is bass playing utopia!

I've said it before, but with all the "rah rah D-Cline is awesome!" going around, I'll reiterate my experience because it was 180 our from Shane's.
Message sent on on facebook and then email, crickets for days. Finally, "Oh hey, yeah so I don't get back to anyone until I have enough messages to make it worth my time." Then, after telling him what I was looking for (sienna burst, spalted maple) he suggested some orange acrylic knobs. I told him no. He then said, "Well, I can do the ORANGE you want."
Full stop. A Roscoe custom that ran north of 4K and he wants to suggest 100% acrylic knobs in the wrong color? Me: What kind of amateur am I dealing with???. He still wasn't sure of the amount or type of knobs I needed after multiple communications telling him so.
So just be aware of what you're getting into if you- he's an amateur, running a side business, and my experience was enough to turn me off and not buy the knobs.

I'm sorry for your experience but your the only person I've ever heard with that problem with him. He's not making knobs right now because of personal issues but hopes to get back into it soon. I've had probably 10 sets or more and all have blown away all the other big name knob makers that most everyone knows in the US.
Everyone has a bad day, I hope he learned from it. But my experience is as valid as yours, and I want to share it.

Or just leave the nice, simple black knobs that Keith puts on.
Roger is a great guy with fast turnaround. I’ve had him do 5-6 sets. Problem though only 1 matched. The rest where shades to light or to dark. That’s always a crap shoot though unless you have the builder send scraps from the bass your building.

Yeah, I didn't have that great of experience either. After seeing some of the knobs made for @Bassworship1, I reached out to D-Cline via Facebook messenger. After five days from my initial message, he responded and we went over some details of what I was looking for over the next couple of days after that. Initial quoted time was 4-6 weeks and this was in July.
After six weeks came and went, I started wondering and checked his Facebook page - no activity. I didn't want to bother the fella, so I fought the urge to contact him thinking he'd get to the knobs I ordered when he could. Enough time went by that I sold that bass and didn't think about the knobs again until seeing a post on the Roscoeheads Facebook page.
I sent a Facebook message to D-Cline on January 3rd, but didn't receive any response. I know things come up and happen, but no response whatsoever seems a bit much and unacceptable in my book - especially when he's still making items for other folks. I hope he's able to deal with whatever it is going on, but I won't be ordering anything from D-Cline again.

I’ve said it before and I’m sure i’ll say it again, leaving well enough alone isn’t what TB is about...David King knobs are supposed to be nice too. It would be difficult to match knobs after the fact, but if you did solid ones, maybe not so much. I just got an XYZ (since it’s Canadian, more of a YYZ
) bass with blackwood knobs, and they are pretty sweet. But to each their own...Latest posts
