Roscoe Club

They are metal strings and they've been on the guitar since they were installed.:D

WOW!! I'm impressed!!!
Your answer doesn't speak to how old the strings are, but, eeri-gardless, you guys must be from another planet to be able to see that from that photo!!

Tell me, Joe, who is going to win the raffle? :roflmao:

Looking forward to using this Roscoe beauty tonight with the band. I've probably put 7-8 hours in it at the house.. I can't put it down.. Anxious to see what it does in a full band mix.
Hey Shane, how do you like the new "Nordstrand pickup/preamp Roscoe" with your band?

Bass is visually the prettiest bass I've owned and the electronics are phenomenal. I will say it has to be woods butt the Roscoe with the Nordstrand DC and Nordie Preamp is far more aggressive than my Devon with the same exact electronics. I'm not sure if it's the Wenge stringer or the Ash body but the growl is crazy with this Bass. The Devon has Maple neck and Ebony Fretboard also but has a Alder body vs the Ash on the Roscoe. Crazy how 2 basses with same electronics can sound so different.

I'd say that you're hearing the difference between alder and ash. The wenge in your neck should add a bit of natural compression but the wenge stringer is not enough to totally tame the aggressive tone of swamp ash. A wedge wenge neck might have balanced things a bit more but with an ebony board and Nordstrand p/u's maybe not.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, the slight natural compression of Roscoe Bart's combined with the more open sound of the Nordstrand pre sounds wonderful!:)

But that's just my opinion ........ :)

Yeah I wish I was good enough to swap the Preamp in my 2 Bart Preamp Roscoes to the Nordie. I'm just not good enough to do it. Would love to have it in both of these basses.
