Roscoe impression

I just got done trying out a fretless 6 string roscoe. I've seen the brand around but never had a chance to try any of their basses. I though it was nice. Played well, body shape although a bit different is actually pretty comfortable. Bass was lighter than I usually like but had better balance than most light weight basses. My biggest complaint was the price. $2800 used. Which granted I've bought a few basses that costs nearly twice that. The thing that shocked me about it was the bridge and the pickups looked pretty similar to my Conklin gt7 which I bought for $700 used. Would I spend a grand on it? definetly but no where near the price they wanted.

Just because you can't tell the difference doesn't mean there isn't one. Comparing a hand made instrument like a Roscoe to a Korean made Conklin is absurd. I've owned both, no comparison.

I have never owned a Roscoe but i can see that they are beatiful instruments and I think the price is fair to what you get. I wont spend $ 4K in any bass but that is only because I CAN'T affoard spending such amount of money in a hobby.

ok.

Just giving my opinion guys. Was trying to be helpful but I can see how my post could be taken wrong. Maybe i should have chosen my words better. It was a nice bass. I'm definitely not saying it was garbage. It just didn't seem like a nearly $2,800 instrument to me. I got my warwick thumb neck through 5 for $2800. Maybe I'm just spoiled from getting good deals

I think that this thread informs us more about you than it does about the quality of Roscoe instruments.
