Rotary switch for you series/parallel guys!!

Rothstein Guitars has been making a 5 position for a while. I have had a JX5 for over a year. It is a complete Jbass setup. He also has them for a precision and I believe will do custom work.

Damn decent page there, with a decent list of knob options.

Say... How would you wire an out-of-phase pair of pickups? I assume it's parallel-only, and one pup's lead and the other's ground would be connected to the output lead, and vice-versa for the output ground?

Here's a diagram that I came up with and am currently using in my Danelectro DC bass. View attachment 1337736

I'm using this switch.

I haven't been messing around with electronics for very long so it may not be the best approach, but it seems to work.
Again it’s a bit of a long shot/necrothread!
I really wanted this to work but I’ve tried every version that I can think of and it’s always wired backwards from what I wanted!

Can anyone tell me how to have a reverse version of this wiring diagram please?

Here you go! :D

That is funny!

But also, it should actually work.
R E A L L Y...?
If you think it certainly DOES Select a bridge pick up on its own when the rotary switch is turned all the way towards the ground and then, after one step toward the ceiling, provides the parallel sound and then the last two positions provide either neck pick up on its own and then series or at the very least vice versa when the control is turned towards the ceiling then that would be fine

I feel I have tried that however but I’ll thankfully try again if you are sure!

I’m pretty sure, yeah. 1, 2, 3, 4 should become 4, 3, 2, 1.

Thanks Rune Birvin & CTMullins I’ve just wired it and it works! (Haven’t got it strung up or anything yet so I don’t know what it sounds like but it does seem to have single pick ups at both ends and the two settings in between seem to show both pickups working So hopefully one will be series and one will be parallel
