I was searching on the web for info and specs on what a Roth U660 model upright bass is. I found nothing. I might be reading the model number wrong from the photo. Any one familiar with this model?
That is a serial number, not a model number. That bass is a hybrid with a carved top and laminated back and sides, the equivalent of the G-669/93 model they sell today.
Ernst Heinrich Roth basses are made in the family owned factory in Bubenreuth, Germany and in the 1960s they were imported to the US by Scherl & Roth. I have a carved Ernst Heinrich bass myself.
