I only have my Jazz bass, and it's currently strung with RotoSound 66's. I think when it's time to replace them, I may put a set of flats on it and see what I think. I'm just recently really getting back to bass, and I have never used flats before, so it will be a totally new experience for me.

Round Wound vs. Flat Wound

So I am moving up to two basses. Currently I have a 99 MIM Deluxe Active Jazz Bass, and given the style and the pre-amp, I think having the more modern sounding rounds will fit the style better, so there the rounds will stay.
I am in the process of building a new bass. It will be a passive P-Bass, one volume, one tone, swamp ash body and a all maple neck. For that one, I think I will give flats a try. I really like the idea of the string being really smooth.
