Roundwounds for a Squier Jaguar Bass?

I picked up a Squier Jaguar bass with a 32" scale., Very fun to play., What strings do you folks use on your medium scale basses? Can you use long scale strings and just trim them? Or do you use actual medium scale sets?

TI "short scales," both rounds and flats, are actually medium scale.

Depends on your tuner size, you may be able to fit long scale strings on it. It will wrap just fine over a 1/2" large tuning post. I recommend Rotosound 66 or Roto Bass, as their E strings are remarkably consistent with the other 3 strings, the lack of which can be especially concerning on a shorter-scale instrument.

I had Dogal Carbonsteel rounds on my Jaguar and they sounded awesome.

I have a reverse headstock neck so I can use regular long scale rounds without winding the speaking portion of the E string around a tuner risking breakage.

My daughter has this bass, and still the stock strings on it.
I have a set of regular scale DR Pureblues I may try on there.
