Roundwounds or Flats for the Gig?

A few folks are recommending foam, which is fine, but placement is everything and tough to work out on the fly. I'd skip it unless you have it all worked out already.

I rolled with the rounds. Nothing at the soundcheck sounded vintage, so I ditched the mute, and played the job w/out one, and palm muted where necessary. Didn't bother rolling off any treble either. Just ran the DI on my Mesa with the pre out single to the FOH and let the engineer do her job. A lot of people were dancing, and the band leader was pleased with everyone. On a side note. It was also my first gig since the pandemic, so hindsight always being 20/20, realized I was definitely overthinking things out of apprehensiveness.

Nice!! Foam mutes never worked for me either. I find whatever I practiced on at home I will have the most confidence on stage with.
