Roy Vogt's Teach Me Bass Guitar

Hey all,

So after much searching and reviewing I decided to start with TMBG by Roy Vogt. People just love his material. I'm so excited to get the Dvds. I even talked to Barbara on the phone and she answered all my questions and got it shipped out to me yesterday. What great service.

I know that it may be a few years old, but his methods and teaching will be around for a very ling time.

I see a lot of bassists been through it. Have you? What did you get out of it?

My main question is this: should I buy the books to go with it? I heard it comes with a .pdf of the material.

P.S. I'm still planning on doing Ariane Cap's music theory after or along with Roy's.

@Birddogcof and @reddog How is it coming along? I'm beginning week 2 of my bass journey and had a skype lesson and an in-person lesson last week. Not sure how I want to process, maybe a combination of the in-person lessons and an online/DVD based type lesson program.

I restarted the course last week. I'm on lesson 2 heading to lesson 3 sometime this week or next. It's going so much better this time around since I learned some basic theory from another course and actually worked out the major scales and understood the basics of chords and progressions. Reading the pdf or book helps expand on the concepts the dvd doesn't always go into details on.

Yeah, it is interesting how the course sometimes blends intro topics and skills with higher-level stuff.
