Rush Limbaugh and the Rams

Interesting observation, I guess that sort of behaviour that those are displaying with regard to Rush Limbaugh would be akin to criticising Michael Moore movies without having watched them.

Except in my case, whom he directly addressed, he's talking squarely out of his butt. So here's a fix for burk:

"Interesting observation, I guess that sort of behaviour that burk is displaying with regard to Brad Johnson would be akin to criticising Michael Moore movies without having watched them".

Yep. Both operating from a point of complete ignorance. And wishful thinking.
:D

Oooh, me first. How grade school.

Just kind of kidding;). Here's my answer... it's a repeat since I already said it in this thread:

"I don't care if he gets part ownership in a club".

That's a direct quote from me and I can verify that too.

So why would you expect me to explain why he's not suitable when I already said otherwise? You'll need to ask the people who feel that way for clarification. And now quid pro quo.

Your turn.
:D

Brad, Again that was not my question. My question was, could you please point out something as contemptible from your catalog of Rush quotes. I'm still waiting....

Oooh, now I somehow said this was on his current show? When did I say that, burk? Does this moving the bar tactic work very often?

What I said was about what Rush Limbaugh has said, period. Because people were talking about that. You can explain why you're now trying the tactic of saying "well, he didn't say it on "this show" but I'd hope you'd realize exactly how lame that is. It's called an excuse and an extremely weak one at that. It's also referred to as wiggling.

Brad, No moving the bar here. I was simply explaining the quotes, something you asked me to do for the record. But then not all of us evidently had as perfect of college years as you. I'm glad I'm not asked to explain two quotes out of millions of pages of dialog from thirty to forty years ago. Some of us, beieve it or not grow and don't have the same views we had when we were in college

Yes, I am going to keep someone from exercising their ability to blah blah blah... again, I clearly said otherwise but you can't seem to follow that.

As far as apologizing, I've seen other poor statements from others who subsequently apologized yet some people never drop it. Double standard? Nah.

And you seem to be saying that he indeed say what I quoted. Don't tell that other guy.

I have made my case. I can't help if people are so worked up they can't even understand what that case is.
:hyper:

No you haven't made your case. Unless you consider a "case" two quotes from almost forty years ago, and a quote that attacked movie director Spike Lee. Frankly it's pathetic, and I believe your intelligent enough to know it. For the fourth time I have showed a much more directly racist quote from a current owner. Apparently you have no problem with. All I have to say is I'm glad your not my judge, and I suspect that (judging by your standards) no one on this board including yourself couldn't be called a racist.

No, the real problem is that Limbaugh sycophants love to pull stuff like this from their nether regions. I've heard plenty of this clown over the years and my wife practically keeps her radio glued to AM630 so I get to listen to your Messiah el Rushbo, Mark Levin (even worse than Limbaugh IMO... and even more hysterical) and Sean "Great American" Hannity far more often than you can seem to be able to comprehend.

Now a thinking person would certainly ask themself "Should I make a proclamation about another person's exposure to something, considering I don't know squat about it?". And they'd certainly answer "No, because that would appear to be not very bright and easily shot down". Yet you did it anyway. Shirley you are smarter than that.
:D

I've easily listened to over 100 hours of his shows over the years... of course that's not enough to get the "nuances" of this sledgehammer voice of the real America. Nobody had to tell me anything about him and people like you who keep saying ignorant things like that hardly help whatever case it is that you think you're making. Unlike people like you, I don't get my core opinions fed to me through the radio (another one of Rush's repeat jokes, which probably has an uncomfortable amount of truth to it).

I use the radio for weather and traffic.

In any event, let's just hope Rush doesn't make any sudden stops. For you guys' sake.
;)

Wow, you've listened to a"hundred hours" of Rush and the ONLY proof you have that Rush is racist are two quotes from back in the seventies (when you weren't listening to him) and the Spike Lee thing, pretty lame.:hyper:

Certainly not beyond a reasonable doubt material, talk about pulling stuff out of nether regions.:rollno:

Wow! I hope I can create a cult of personality within my lifetime. That way, when I screw up, there will be as many Liquidmidnight apologists waiting to defend me as there are Limbaugh apologists.

If he can add value by owning a team, then let him own a team. If he would detract value, then the owners are making a good move. I don't know enough about the NFL to comment any more on that. As far as Rush himself, like every pundit, he's made a career out of a simple psychological concept called a confirmation bias. It means that people look for information that adheres to their beliefs about a topic. Good for him getting rich off of preaching to the right-wing choir, and good for Michael Moore for doing the same with the left-wing choir.

I was responding to Marks comment about watching Michael Moore flicks, comprehend much? Cause you sure trying for a monopoly on snarkiness with a dose of evasion today
:hiding:

Like bassrique, you made some very definitive statements about me, in your case about my exposure to Rush and why I think what I think. That's why I asked when you watched me.

The point, which I thought was obvious, is that you just made it up, based most likely on what you want to believe about me. Only you can explain why you needed to do that. I won't guess.

Explain exactly what I'm evading... the opinion I didn't express about him owning a team.

Even for you... wow. How many times did you evade my question?
:D

Wow you guys are going to really hate me. I think Mark Levin is awesome. :hyper:

I believe in the United States Constitution and know it's harder to fight for freedom than to succumb to tyranny. I suspect if Patrick Henry had a radio show today you would be hating him too. :D Nothing political, just my love for my country.

Brad, Again that was not my question. My question was, could you please point out something as contemptible from your catalog of Rush quotes. I'm still waiting....

So this wasn't your question?:

"OK, Brad, I'll bite IF you answer my question. Why is Rush not suitable but we have a current minority owner who claimed "N****s are like P****y holes. Please find something Rush said that was near as contemptible as that comment? I'm waiting......."

Why is Rush not suitable is the core question, is it not? I'd ask you what my repeatedly stated position in on that but you seem to have my answer locked out of your consciousness. I'll badger you one more time with it..

"I don't care if he gets part ownership in a club".

Now you've somehow taken that to mean "I don't want him to and here's why" when it clearly says NEITHER. Duh.

Is this thing on?
:hyper:

That's simply not true. You absolutely did introduce "never sourced to Rushes show" to this nonsense to minimize what he said elsewhere (otherwise why bring that up?). News flash: it was still Rush and he still said it. Do you disagree?
:D

Yes, you should be very glad I'm not your judge and I pray you're never mine.
:hmm:

As I said I have made MY CASE. The fact that you don't even understand what MY CASE is is your probvlem, not mine.

In any event I'm not talking about making my case to someone like you. I don't have that kind of time and your mind is clearly made up to go in another direction from what I've actually written. BTDT

I don't care if he owns a team.

I really don't know how much more plainly I can say that. So why would I care what some other owner said? Why can't you seem to get it?

Seriously. What's your issue with my stance? Beside blocking it out.

I don't hate you. And I know you'd like to believe what you stated afterwards... knock yourself out.

I can't take the guy seriously. He's an unintentional comedy show. The quiet preamble then the screaming. Lather rinse repeat. At least he's on the radio instead of tv.

Has it escaped you the tyrannical fashion in which he runs his show? Probably.
:D

Why do you have to be so condescending?

Here... this might help:

It can do some pretty neat stuff... like not clicking on a thread. It'll be just like God making the bad men stop. Except you'll know in your heart of hearts they didn't.

What a dilemma. Keep clicking and suffer or move on.

You're welcome.

Yes, we all hate motherhood and apple pie, too.

Point out the condescension? You might have the same misunderstanding as the satire thing.

1. I don't hate you.
You said we really would. I don't. Somebody's gotta listen to him.

2. And I know you'd like to believe what you stated afterwards... knock yourself out.
You do believe it, don't you? Go for it.

3. I can't take the guy seriously. He's an unintentional comedy show. The quiet preamble then the screaming. Lather rinse repeat. At least he's on the radio instead of tv.

I can't. He talks quietly then screams. Never noticed that? He does it alot. And the guy has said he has a face for radio. I don't disagree.

4. Has it escaped you the tyrannical fashion in which he runs his show? Probably.
Serious question. Do you find his style to be benevolent and nurturing? I've heard him berate, yell at and hang up on his callers. Have you?

So the condescension was... 1, 2, 3 or 4?
:hmm:
