Russian Bassballs - ??

Hi, I'm not sure if I can find a quick fix here but... I picked up a Electro Harmonix Russian Bassballs from EBay last week. I plugged in but after trying a number of things , I still have not heard one sound coming out. I picked up a power supply to fit it but that didnt help. ( so im really not sure if it is right for this unit ) The seller says that it worked when he shipped. (???) I put a new battery in but still nothing. I opened it up but cant see anything wrong. I get nothing from output. I plugged in a cable to output and touching the other end, which should be hot , I get nothing. While it was plugged in I reached in and touched input post inside and it is receiving a signal. ( a loud pop! )
Any suggestions ???

I don't have the Russian model but IIRC, the bassballs units use a very different power supply than "normal" - they actually use an ac power adapter as opposed to a "normal" dc (often 9v) supply. However, if you used a batterry and still got nothing then, yeah, check cabling. Though it is possible that if the wrong power supply was used something could have gotten burned up.

This is wrong. 9vdc positive tip in a 1/8 inch connector.

I'm having trouble being certain of what you've done. It sounds like you ran the bass to the output and amp to the input. That is backwards. If I misunderstood then I need some clarification about what you've done to help figure out where you should go next.

Thanks for the clarification. I knew it used a different connector, but I must have been thinking about one of my other pedals regarding the power required.
