Rusty Box settings for The Jesus Lizard tone

If you like having one small cab then maybe you should try another 1x15 that's a bit closer to the JL/Shellac cab, like an older EV loaded Diesel Mesa 1x15 or Bag End S-15D. Could get you closer to the sound you're after, and be louder without decreasing your portability.

Then if you need more you can use both cabs or just lug the new cab when one is enough.

I had a bit of a Jesus Lizard sound going with my Rusty Box today. I ran it into the front of my 800rb with all the tone controls about noon on the amp. The Rusty I had the volume at about 3 o'clock, the bass and mid at about 9 o'clock and the treble about 2. The gain was at noon and the switch was on hi.

I've found the best tone with any setup is to have the bass maxed and the middle all the way to the left. Try that out with the gk800rb
