Not much, got an AA in EE(which isn't worth shite) never been able to parley that into an applicable job.
I put the Mrs through school working the above jobs (was supposed to get her Dr. burned out prior to that, but her animal science degree pays great so what do I care)
After we get the land situation worked out its back to school for me.(I hope, student loans already account for the lion's share of our expenses)

Really hard to say one way or the other as things are VERY transitional right now.

Thanks Ron, I can't believe I turned around that many demos in that length of time. Still managed to sneak in some time with my wife and do some housework too, somehow. I barely had time to get a Modded HM2 preorder into Nick before the deadline, I was so busy uploading these lol.



I already own the Wizard and the Cthulhu, which are both killer. I preordered the Volt Thrower and the HM2 though, because they bring some awesome overdrive/distortion tones. The DA120 sounds pretty awesome on guitar. It's not the most bass friendly pedal of the bunch, kind of limited in voicing and flexibility for that, but every single pedal in the box had enough solid low end that it could handle bass with zero probablem and sound good.



The Volt Thrower is hands down the best bass friendly RAT tone I've played. That's something I've been hugely picky about too.

Alright guys I need some advice. Way not doom, but y'all don't suck so here goes...
Been at the new job for just over a month reading meters.
I'm getting better at what I do but I'm having some bad experiences. Specifically with dogs.
I don't know if I should stick it out or not.
Its decent money (not exciting but is all extra towards buying land, the wife is bringing the bacon) and has good benefits. I've had dangerous jobs before; done electrical line work, climbed cell towers, worked at prisons and chemical plants, hell I was rebuilding a military airport on 9/11. I keep telling myself I'm not a puusy, but these dogs are driving me nuts. I got attacked 4 times today, twice was groups of 2 & 3 dogs.
I don't have to go in any yards with dogs, but all 4 attacks today the dogs left their yards. I haven't been bitten, and so far I've scared all the groups off. I just don't know my luck will hold.
The part that really bothers me is my opinion of dogs is suffering in general.
I love animals and prior to this job never has a bad experience.
I'm just not sure its worth it.
Should I quit or man up and stop bitchin'?

Well, you could go carrot or stick on this one. Dog treats, or mace.

You need to get yourself some pepper spray, and maybe a cattle prod.

I'll preface this by saying I don't have anything against animals and like to pet a dog from time to time but I'm not an animal person.

Dogs as pets need to abide by societal rules, its their owners responsibility. You dont go into yards with dogs, thats your rule. When the dog leaves the yard to attack you, I'd think you were within your rights to defend yourself with mace or pepperspray... its better than kicking or electrifying or god forbid shooting the animal. Laws are in place to protect people like you (meter readers, mailmen, etc.) and if the dog owners can't follow those laws and keep their pets in check they shouldnt be allowed to own pets. A non-lethal deterrant like pepper spray or mace would be in my hand at all times if I reasonably expected to be attacked by dog(s) in the course of my day.

I'd like to hear Laz's take on this because he's a dog whisperer of sorts and can probably offer some better advice.

Man I feel for you, I only do field work once a week, I can't imagine day in day out dealing with people and dogs. Haven't been bit in 6 years but thought I was going to get bit a few times, and had one dolt come out with a baseball bat in his hand, trying to act all badarse. It's a tricky thing people want their privacy and their property protected but they also want utilities and in my case addresses, additions, outbuildings, and quick response from 911 services. If I had to be in the field 5 days a week, I don't care what my boss says, I would have some non-leathal protection with me. I do keep a big old tub of doggie jerky treats with me to kind of put them off when the seem mean, and of course I treat the sweet dogs, just cuz dey sweet!
