corey maybe i missed it, but what bass/head/cab/mic are you using for all of these? sounds like a P bass but no idea after that. and what tuning are you in?

All the clips are in B standard tuning. Bass was my Precision, with Dimarzio Model P pickup and DR Nickel Lo-Rider strings (bottom 4 or a 5 string set), to the pedalboard (which was Turbo Tuner > fdeck HPF-Pre > pedal), to my GK MB800 into the Eminence Basslite loaded 1x10. I had the preamp set to noon, all the EQ settings at about 1 o'clock and the Contour all the way down. Guitar was my Carvin Bolt Plus on the bridge humbucker (stock pickups, stock Carvin strings, setup for B as well at the factory), into the same pedalboard setup, into my Carvin X100B on the clean channel (with pretty much everything set at noon for EQ and Pres at 3), into a Celestion 65 loaded 2x12. Shure SM7B on both, no EQ or compression, just a little leveling on the master channel for volume.

Simple setup: guitar, muff, Peavey 80's tube head, 4x12. I'm finding alot to love through both the high gain and low gain inputs... high gain apparently runs your signal through an extra gain stage in the pre. But the onboard amp gain sort of takes some of the luster out of delay and modulation pedals at the front end. Low gain brings out the modulation pedals but the fuzz tone from the muff is a bit too raw, I think I'm missing the amp gain's natural compression.

Do you (or your guitarists) tend to run dirt pedals into the low gain (clean) inputs, or run your pedalboard into the high gain (dirty) inputs? At high volume if you're pushin the tubes, can you really tell the different?

If it has an effects loop, I'd run your delay and modulation pedals there. My VTM (direct successor to the Butcher) never took pedals great, I always used it more for just a straight Marshall style tone with guitar, with maybe a boost or something occasionally. The only time I've run it with a lot of pedals was using a different preamp directly into the power section, then I just put the delay after the preamp.

I don't know if I should stick it out or not.
Its decent money (not exciting but is all extra towards buying land, the wife is bringing the bacon) and has good benefits. I've had dangerous jobs before; done electrical line work, climbed cell towers, worked at prisons and chemical plants, hell I was rebuilding a military airport on 9/11. I keep telling myself I'm not a puusy, but these dogs are driving me nuts. I got attacked 4 times today, twice was groups of 2 & 3 dogs.
I don't have to go in any yards with dogs, but all 4 attacks today the dogs left their yards. I haven't been bitten, and so far I've scared all the groups off. I just don't know my luck will hold.
The part that really bothers me is my opinion of dogs is suffering in general.
I love animals and prior to this job never has a bad experience.
I'm just not sure its worth it.
Should I quit or man up and stop bitchin'?

lower gain setting usually work better with dirt and fuzz pedals that are set up with a volume boost. It also works better with lower tunings in my experience. the sound won't be as mushy and compressed. I think that's why Matamps are liked, typically they are fairly low gain, kind of a dry sound to the preamp that really works well with pedals and/or cranking the master volume.

Thanks Nick, I made some notes on everything to go over with you. All the in production stuff is pretty squared away and sounding killer. The ODB and DA120OD could use a few tweaks, yeah, but they're still really solid.

It's based on the OCD, modded to be more bass friendly (among other things). As you can tell from Nick's previous comments, still kind of in the beta stage. That's one of the reasons the Dunwich pedals are so killer, Nick takes the time to refine and get it dialed in.

With amps like the Butcher, you definitely have to keep the pregain down for them to be pedal friendly. I sometimes run amps a little dirty for use with pedals on guitar, but not like tight, high gain preamp dirty, just pushing the power tubes and getting a little breakup usually.

That about sums me up. Pets would be goats a donkey and a yard dog if I had land otherwise nada. And it'd have to be a lazy dog, I hate hyper jumpy drooly dogs. I prefer fur rugs with feet.

You will just have to buy a bunch of my stuff and see but like always I generally know what people will like. You already have access to a VT so mute point with that one. Wizard Fuzz might be nice for you but its probs going to encroach on the BB territory even tho its not a muff

Hmm, I really like it already so hopefully it doesn't change too much. I have Joyo Ultimate Drive which I like a lot but could see how there could be some improvements for bass. When it becomes available I will likely be ordering one.

The main thing I find with the ODB thats in the TB is that its reallllly dark so treble content needs to be adjusted. I mean even too dark for bass on certain settings. So the EQ needs more treble range to compensate. Might increase headroom in the EQ section by adding internal voltage conversion and might pop the treble up a bit
