Band practice later tonight... we settled on the name Island of Giants, being that myself and the guitar player are both 6 feet+, we aim for a gigantic sound, and our rigs are quickly starting to resemble Stonehenge. I want our live setup to resemble Weedeater, with drums front and center, massive rigs in the back, and me and guitarist on either end. We'll each have 2 rigs by the time we start playing live so each side of the stage will have full bass and guitar support with no PA. My biggest gripe with local shows is how you have to choose whether you want to focus on bass or guitar based on where you stand in the room... we're trying to mitigate that through over-rigging ourselves.

For those who have been following my Hartke woes: its been i the shop for 2 weeks now, the tech just called me and says its not my imagination, he IS seeing some DC leakage when the levels are turned up. He struggled at first because at low volume it works swimmingly, but at high levels the left power section overheats and sends wonky voltages and DC. So hopefully once its released back to me I can run it into the 2x15 and not blow any more drivers, and be able to run the Acoustic 370 and 18+12+6 rig on one side, Hartke + 2x15 on the other. Guitarist is running his Laney AOR into an Avatar 2x12, and once his Hovercraft gets fixed that will go to another 4x12. Our vocals are finally starting to come together, and I really just can't f***ing wait until we are able to play out. F*ck!

Its been 6 months since my last show...I've got a nervous twitch because of it.

The only thing I'd change about the WF is to give it the ability to store 3 presets like the Sansamp BDDI so I could use 3 different settings on the fly. That's not really a complaint, just the only way I could possibly like the pedal more.

You could buy 3 WF I mean ya know....

Not entirely sure how i would do mutli settings for that pedal but that idea is nice

ODB and DA120 sounded better with the pick settings (IMO)

Cthulhu sounds awesome, obviously more "1-trick" than the others but it's a really awesome trick.

Just listened to the clips, awesome job Corey thanks for taking the time.

I found the WF and VT to sound almost identical, both really good, but I couldn't hear enough of a difference to own both. I do like the ODB, but like Nick said it does need a bit more high end. It would be interesting to hear the ODB at lower gain and standard tuning too. I bet it cleans up pretty nicely for a warm natural OD sound. Having said that, I am looking forward to getting my VT.

im thinking I am going to do headroom boost on that so it has more room for the EQ. You can further boost bass or treble before adding in clipping from that along with peaking some extra treble. Eliminate LED mode, replace with Si mode.

They're both really versatile, so there's some overlap, but they can both get into specific tones the other can't. The Volt Thrower can't really go full fuzz and there's just a certain something an LM308 RAT does that I think just can't be exactly replicated with other pedals that can't quite get. Then again also, I think it's more apparent on certain instruments and in certain circumstances than others. Then again I spent 3 days recording detailed gear demos and I have something like 26 pedals sitting on a shelf in my office at home...I'm a little bit obsessively detail oriented with subtle gear differences. :hiding:
