Sad amp story

I live in WA state and ordered a Genz Benz 610XB2 cabinet used from Guitar Center in Orange, Connecticut on Feb. 15th. I was told it would arrive by Fedex on Feb. 25th. I get a call from Fedex on delivery day saying my package was lost. I tracked it to Salt Lake city and that was the last arrival destination. How in the hell do you lose a 130 lb. 610 cab? I was pissed! The Fedex rep. told me that they should be able to find it easily, but the investigation could take up to 20 days. They never found it. Guitar Center in Texas had the same cabinet model for sale so I had the shipping dept. manager from CT file a claim against Fedex and they held the cab in Texas for me. Two and a half months later, Guitar Center receives payment from Fedex and I finally receive my cabinet in April with a dent in the grill! Fedex sucks! I have to give props to Guitar Center for dealing with the Fedex claim and covering the $150.00 difference in cabinet price. Cabinet is bad to the bone, so probably worth the wait, but the way Fedex operates is frustrating as hell!

I ordered a 410 bass cabinet last week, when it arrived via Fedex I opened it up and noticed that the cab wasn't sitting level. I looked on the bottom of the cab and the corner was crushed in. Called the company I ordered it from and they sent UPS to pick it up and are sending me a replacement by Fedex. I hope that the second one arrives intact.

Wow. That's very sad indeed! Knowing John, it would've been very well upkept. Hope FedEx does right by you, and cover the whole thing. There's no way any repair could be done to bring it back to what it was before. On that note, which shippers do people normally use these days?

as you might imagine, i was very bummed to hear about this.

unfortunately, this kind of incident can occasionally happen. I packed the amp extremely well. the B12N's aren't all that heavy, and multiple layers of heavy duty bubblewrap, boxing it in a sturdy box, then wrapping that box in multiple layers of bubble wrap and putting that box in a super heavy duty double walled box should have been enough. it was definitely dropped from a pretty high distance (my guess is about 5-6 feet, and IMO, no amount of packing could keep it from damage from a dead fall at that height. it's negligence on their part and the amp was insured for the full amount. I've shipped thousands of items over the years and have only had two or three problems with fedex, so their record is actually pretty good. (much better than UPS IMO).

i'm just waiting for the claims department to get their act together, but i'm on top of them.
