Sad news regarding "The Ox"

And to think I wondered why my cousin is so strait edge..... I feel numb right now.. And even though he did die from drugs I still morn him.....

He lived the rock and roll life and, as happens so often, it killed him.

That is very sad. Espcially since at first I was relieved to hear that he died of a heart attack. I mean, I wasn't really relieved that he died, but I was glad that it wasn't a drug overdose, but now I feel like a fool.

It seems he just didn't know when to stop. It's a terrible shame but now it seems (to me anyway) that some of you are changing your opinions of the man himself because of this recent information. I think this is wrong. It's true that this does show he was not exactly the same person that we thought him to be, but we still must remember that he was a great man, who influenced our beautiful instrument immensly(definetly mispelled), and changed many of our lives for the better.

I didn't read one post where people are changing there opinion of the Ox,
I'm reading that most people think it's a cryin shame and most are saying that he should have known better, Especialy with the man having heart disease and being 57, He's still the Ox! and the man behined all the greatest who grooves ever, But there is a time in life where you should definitly be in control of life and not let life control you.
I will always love the Ox but it's just a shame that he went out the way he did! (Prematurely)
I think that's what most people are saying.
Nobody thinks any less of him!
Musicians die every week it seems as of late from Drug OD's this is nothing new but I figured being in his late 50's Entwistle had his sh*# together.

But when you're living a life completely comprised of waking up in a different room every day, it's a bit more understandable, nedding something to get away from it all.

It is not an easy life, to say the least.

I have been almost relegated to assuming all deaths of musicians are drug related. the planes, trains, and automobile deaths notwithstanding. I like a few Who soongs but by no means what i call OX and influence nonetheless is is always sad to see anyone go before their time, except Racist people, and child molesters/rapists, they deserve immediate death

I saw a picture of John sitting at a bar in the Hard Rock w. a couple of girls the night he died. It was in the latest issue of Rolling Stone. The photo struck me as odd, 'cos if you look at John in that pic and then look at him say in the Royal Albert Hall concert footage (Nov 2000) he looked like he aged noticably b'tween the two... check out the pic if you have the issue.

Just my interpitation of what I see...as always I could be wrong.

For being so smart...John was real dumb in this instance...fatally.

even then, some of those vehicular deaths are caused by drugs. it was reported after an autopsy that the pilot of the plane that crashed and killed aaliyah and many others had cocaine and alcohol in his bloodstream.

Why would any of you be shocked by this news? When I heard that he had died, drugs were the first thing that jumped into my head. Even if drugs were not in his sytem, his death would still have been drug related because of years of doing them.

why? Doing drugs isn't necessarily a smart thing to do, but it doesn't make you a horrible person, either.

And you can't expect every musician you admire to be a saint.

His death is still just as sad as it was when I first heard about it.

it wasnt a drug overdoes, it was a heart attack induced by drugs.
