Sad news...

I've been meaning to write something for a while... I know I never really got to know Polly well, but from what contact I have had with him he really seemed like a great guy. I remember when I made my first post on TB and it was a basic "What bass should I buy" and Polly responded saying I should buy a Spector which I later found out that he loved. It might not seem like much but I really appreciated him making me feel like I was just a regular memberand not some newbie by joking around with me. My deepest condolences go out to the family. :( :crying:

I havent been on TB for awhile so i just found out about this. I wondered what all the Yellow Ribbons were for and then i read this post. Damn that sux. I talked to Polly alot of times on AIM he always used to bug me about Spectors. The Greatest basses in the world In His Opinion. My Sympathies to his family. Not to be shallow or anything but i believe it takes alot of guts to take your own life but it takes more to stick around and get yourself back together. No Dis respect meant. I just hope other people learn from this.
R.I.P PollyBass- I'll miss you.

OMG! I have been away for a little while and I just found out now. I hope Polly has found the peace he was looking for. My heart felt condolences to his family.
R.I.P. Polly. :(

P.S. This message is for anyone here who feels depressed and thinks there is no other way out than to take your own life. I know when you are in that state that it is hard to think rationally, but life constantly changes. Things will get better. Try to think of the people you will be affecting, your mother, father, bothers or sisters, friends, significant others. I know this has gotten others through the darkest times.
Please call someone, anyone! There is always another way.
God bless,
Vegaas

Casey was one of two people I remained in contact with after I left TB. He understood why I left, but always told me he'd get me to post on here again. It hurts that this is what it took to get me to post today.

I give my best to those he is survived by.

Casey, my long distance buddy, one day soon enough we'll meet face to face to take on the teenage dyslexic devil-worshipping lesbians who hate Spectors. Take care my friend.

I too am guilty of missing this one. I have spoken to him many times in chat. He was a wonderful young man.

Guys, if there is anything that seems to push you to the point of taking your own life, please contact someone, get help. Send me message and I will call you or even come to see you if I have to. Life is a gift we are given but once, death is never the answer.

I love you guys and never want you to feel like you have no one to turn to.

Mike

I have been consciously avoiding Talk Bass lately, then I decide to visit yesterday and find that my fellow TB anarchist has taken his life. He and I were "fighting the system" here a couple of years ago and after we exchanged a few PMs I developed a bit of a kindred spirit with him through that experience. My condolences to those who loved him.

So, in memory of Polly, I would like to publicly question the moderators' power......... :D :D :hiding:

I missed the terrible news the past weeks, to read it in the newsletter was quite shocking.

As someone who has been to that point himself, I'm so sorry that Casey couldn't find the strength to hold on.

I didn't know him, but his posts were always very insightful, funny and usually both.

Again through own experience I know how one can hide the hurt and desperation from even the closest of people.

My condolances to all his close ones. Hope you like it there better, Casey.

i never knew the guy and i haven't read any of his posts but i feel sad for him, his wife and his family. i've noticed that this forum is very tight and everybody is very friendly and always available for good and sincere advice. it's almost like a brotherhood/sisterhood.

i'd like to contribute to any kind of memorial you all have come up with.
