Ryan, my thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

Polly(Casey) was . He will be missed.

I remember back when he first came on the board, he could be trollish, and rub people the wrong way. Then, he started to become a member of the community(Remember posts like 'For once, I agree with Polly'?), and shared his love of heavy music, Spectors, Rickenbackers, and Ibanez ATKs.

When he was a n00b, he got on my nerves. Then, as his online persona matured, I began to appreciate his sense of humor. And eventually, I began to look forward to his posts, even most of the inane ones in the throwaway OT Kids threads.

:(

i havn't wandered into ot for about a week and i definitley did not expect this... :(

as soon as a read it a tear fell from my eye.. the song i was listening to when i began reading this thread was Michael Picasso, by Ian Hunter. ...

here are the parts of the song that stick out..

"How can I put into words
what my heart feels?
it's the deepest thing
when somebody you love dies

I just wanted
to give something back to you
gift to gift
Michael, Michael Picasso good night

You used to love our house
you said it was relaxing
now I walk in the places you walk
I talk in all the spaces you talk
it still hasn't sunk in

Are the words real
that come into my head
on a morning walk?
do the shadows
play tricks with my mind?

For it feels like
nothing has changed
but I know it has
Michael, Michael Picasso
good night

Heal me
won't you
heal me?
nothing lasts forever
set me free

Heal me
won't you
heal me?
I'm the one who's left here
heal me
heal me
heal me

You turned into a ghost
surrounded by your pain
and the thing that I liked the least
was sitting 'round Hasker Street
lying about the future

And we all sit
in a room full of tears
on a windy day
and I looked out
but none of these words seem right

I just wanted
to give something back to you
gift to gift
Michael, Michael Picasso
good night

to know, know know him
was to love, love, love him
i do, i do, and i do...."

yes we do...

rip polly

the bass will be silent today...

:bawl:

I am a man.

I might have the name "PollyBass", and have a girl as my avatar,,, but I, am, a, man.

I have gotten more than 4 PM's telling me something like "Wow your hot and you play bass chick bassists rule "

I tell them my name is Casey Hughes, but that does not help now does it.

Guess I will change the avatar.

Or my name,,,,,,,

Quite possibly his 4th best post ever.

Wow.
I didn't know him that much, but did read his posts.
Kinda like when a great guy (Pat Lyman) who used to post at alt.bass.guitar was killed a few years back (by a drunk driver).
Not much you can really say.
Wow :(

damn

I think I'm leaving TB for a little while and instead of reading posts and making jokes, I am going to try to write something for him.

I didn't know him as well as some here and definately not as well as I would have liked, but I did talk to him I rermember a few times he IMed me asking where I was when I spent time away from TB, well, now he is the reason. If anyone particularly those who know him better want to IM me or send me a private message (I will check in every once in a while) to ask how I am coming on the song or maybe if you want to share thoughts that you don't want people that didn't know him (but read this thread) to read feel free.
Good bye for a little while (though I will probably read all new posts here.)

i've already written a song, lyrics and music. played it with the band. we're playing it at a show on friday.. hopefully i can get it on here...

let me know if anyone wants to read the lyrics
