My condolences to Polly's family, relatives and friends. I'm new at talkbass and might have made quite a few posts. I'm also not quite familiar with Polly's posts on talkbass, however, reading reactions and posts to this thread leads me to believe he was a really nice person and worth to be made a friend.

This also made me realize how lucky we are to be members of talkbass.

Ryan, my deepest sympathies to you and your family, you will all certainly be in my prayers. Sad events such as this remind us all how fragile life really is. This is a good reminder for us all to be good to one another and remember that the people that post here are people, not just names on a computer screen. This is sad beyond words.

My deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Pollybass. This tragedy should make all of us more aware of our countless reasons to push on in the face of seemingly insurmountable hardships.
May I be the first to suggest that we, as a community, contribute something to the lives of those he left behind. Perhaps take a collection or make a cd in his memory. Maybe there could be a 'cry for help' forum monitored by those with counselling experience where bassists may feel more willing to ask for help.
Seeing how this community is so eager to help someone with a simple intonation problem, I can only imagine the support someone in despair could recieve here.
Once again, my deepest sympathies. Now I'm going to go play for Pollybass.
