Sadowsky bass with JJ PJ conversion

I hope nobody minds if I post this in this thread. My Sadowsky isn't a PJ, and I'm certainly not placing myself in the same realm of the great Michael Rhodes, but this new video taken at a recent gig of the Matt Zeiner Band is a pretty good example of how deliciously a Sadowsky "sits in the mix". The bass signal is direct to ProTools through an Aguilar DB900 direct box.

No problem Craig, I've enjoyed the video...great tone, groove for days and tasty fills... Michael Rhodes would be proud of that bassline.

I see you are in Spain so I guess it's hard to get his basses there.

The P feels a lot fatter but it's not cumbersome. I go back and forth and my preference depends on the phase of the moon I guess. Sometimes I love the P and sometime the J shape. Perhaps you'll be like me and be glad you have both.

If it's truly not for you, I ass/u/me you could ship the bass back and pay Roger to change the neck. That is one of the benefits of a bolt-on construction.

I made plans to visit NYC but I had to change them at the last minute. I think that since my PJ on order is going to have a J body, the J neck will suit me fine. If I ever need an alder, rosewood P I'll order it with a P neck. IME, different necks make me play in different ways and even my note choices vary.

Sounds great Craig! To me a Sadowsky is the P-bassiest J-bass ever. Even the JJs have that wonderful thick bottom end.

What strings are you using?
