How about 59 burst with Tortoise? I also second sonic blue with tortoise and Rosewood but You'd probably have to wait a while for that combination.

I'm going to be building an Ash bass with no pickguard, just control plate and maple/maple neck in the next couple months. I can't wait! It's the most simple looking bass, I think, and I love it.

I agree, with jazzes I really like simplicity. I think my favorite color on a jazz are plain white (no pg) and natural. Both with maple fb.

There's a very nice MetroUV5 at Low Down Sound (just came in on Friday) in that color scheme with a maple neck with blocks and binding. Nice bass.... the nicest UV I've played so far (of the three I've tried).

What kind of finish does Sadowsky use with natural ash or maple/maple neck, clear gloss or satin? If they do either, what do you guys think looks best. I haven't seen any side by side to be able to tell.

Well I had to go with my second choice. I bought the 59 sunburst with pickguard. My first choice was natural with pickguard but I would have had to wait a few weeks and I could not do that. I should be getting it on Thursday. Thanks for all your input.

I have a sunburst metro, maple fretboard, but the pickguard is not white- more cream yellow vintage looking. White may be too stark for the sunburts.
