Would love nothing more than to have one of the Japanese Metros just to have for posterity, but alas ... I don’t gig it, and tools that don’t get used ... gotta go.

Only selling because between my NYC PJ5 and Olinto P5, I think I have ‘my sound’ in spades.

This bass has a chunky, comfortable neck, a broken in feel, and ‘that sound’ of a 70’s JBass.

HC Pickups, soft-hardshell case (oxymoron, I know) that these came with. Setup low and fast and slappy.

$2400 shipped, will also consider my Canadian brothers and sisters.

9.5 lbs, maybe a hair over. Definitely a chunky monkey, and that extra low-mid girth PROVES it.

Someone in another thread mentioned that the 70's bridge spacing gives these basses more of a low-mid thing than the 60's spacing.

I had never heard that before ... and don't know if there's any real 'data' behind it, but it might be why I've always preferred these UV5's to Roger's standard 60's spaced J5 models.

Then again, I'm selling this one, so what the crap do I know.

Hmmm... You know what would be cool is this bass and experiment with a set of Tom Brantley's Geddy Lee pups. I know he'd do a 5 string set no problem.

Curse those turning wheels!

If I hadn't burned my thumb badly with a solder gun, I'd be more into tinkering. Now when I smell the solder, I lose 3-days and wake up with wet trousers. Helluva thing Clark!
