No longer available - Sadowsky NYC Vintage 5-24
Grabbed this sucker off of the inimitable, always-sets-up-the-bass-with-this-sweet-low-action @Latinbass .
I ended up loving the 'Soaps in JPosition' thing so much, I grabbed an alder/amazon RW version and this bass needs to help pay for that...

Would love nothing more than to have one of the Japanese Metros just to have for posterity, but alas ... I don’t gig it, and tools that don’t get used ... gotta go.
Only selling because between my NYC PJ5 and Olinto P5, I think I have ‘my sound’ in spades.

One of Tully Kennedy’s road-dogs. Has some dimples on the back from a belt buckle, but nothing that shows up well in photgraphs.
Doing some serious bass comparisons and keep coming back to my heavy ash Sadowsky PJ5 (brazilian RW/flatwounds) and my Olinto P5 as ‘my sound’.

What was not in the thread:

Picked this up directly from Roger & CO, just to hear the wood combo.
I'm enamored of this particular design/pickup placement, but have never fully bonded with the slap tone.
More 'doink' in the tone (ala Ken Smith) when what I really need is that Marcus 'sploink'. Thankfully I'm a spoiled...

This little smokeshow came to me in a trade, or else I never would've sprung for this wood combo.
And yet ...
What a magnificent combo of classic bass tones.
1) Alder: I've been into solid ash bodies for my Sadowsky needs, but alder really does have a roundness to each note that kills...

This one’s about as minty fresh as you’ll get. I bought it from Bass San Diego right around the time I quit my main band and I never even gigged it. Just sold the soft/hardshell case that came with it, slapped it around a few times to establish dominance, and then put it right back in the case...
