Sadowsky Metro weight

Wood is wood, some are light, some are heavier. I've seen some (P's, J's, 24F5's) weight as light as 8.5 lbs and some as heavy as 10 lbs.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not... but....
I thought it was very helpful since I'm a Sadowsky employee and have handled 100's of Metro basses and the weight varies on every bass. I've probably played more Metro's than everyone on TB put together.

What I'm hoping to learn is if the P bodied Metro's tend to be any lighter.

LOL! I couldn't resist! For the question...I have only played a couple of the Hybrids but it seems to me the weights are about the same in general as the other Metros. I have been lucky in finding lighter Sadowskys. I tend to call around to the different dealers and I will even ask them to weigh basses for me. I don't think I have had to buy any Metro over about 9lbs or slightly over yet. It pays to check around, Not to pull your chain, but the best advice I could have given you was PM Nino or Dragonbass...they handle them everyday!

Thanks for the reply Tom! I would much prefer a bass that weighs 8lbs or less but there probably aren't many Metros that light. I definitely want to stay below 9 lbs if at all possible.
I spoke with Kevin yesterday and, as you probably know, Sadowsky doesn't provide weights for the Metros. Good idea about calling dealers-- they may be more willing to provide the info to get the sale.

Last summer, a blonde Metro Standard sold here after being advertised as weighing 7.25 pounds, and the bass hasn't re-sold since which is a rarity on TB. Make of that what you will.
