Sadowsky Modern 5 Metro Express: The Verdict is in!

It is a very nice bass. The neck is chunkier than my RSD, but that is not a deal breaker. I think the lower horn should be longer because it will not balance without a strap. I also need to lower the action, but this bass has tone for days! It is definitely a mid heavy modern soap loaded bass, but it sounds a bit more Fenderlike than my Peavey. I think some lighter strings will be worth trying too, but I think this bass, my Peavey, and fretless RSD are going to be my main church basses from this point forward.

The sound clip is ok, yet we can tell it has cajones, and such a sweet top end!!!!

Once you get the strings to your liking and the action just right , you’ll be able to adjust and get used to the difference between the necks.
If the neck isn’t painful and weight is good , all is well. You manly play seated so a good strap is a good balancing tool.

I suspect that we will see this bass getting the majority of the church and practice time as you get more acquainted. First impressions say a lot.

I have had the RSD since 2021, but the Modern is the first bass I have ever had that is labels Sadowsky on the headstock.

The pickup spacing on those is my favorite. It does something to the mids that just works. I’m not entirely sure why I don’t have one. Enjoy yours, it sounds really great!
