sadowsky p'ups

Standard jazz bass pick-ups are single-coil. When used alone, they will hum.

Standard jazz bass pick-ups are also reverse-wound. So that, when they are both used in conjunction with each other, the combination of the two cancels out the hum ("humcancelling").

The standard Sadowsky pick-up, or indeed any "Humcancelling" style jazz pick-up makes only one pick-up necessary to cancel out the hum. Thus, they are humcancelling in any setting.
