The Legendary Sadowsky SA200 Bass Amplifier Returns!

We are very excited to announce a limited run of the renowned Sadowsky SA200 All Tube Bass Amp!

Begun in 2003 as a joint venture with Dolf Koch of Koch Amplification in Holland, the SA200 was released in 2005 to glowing reviews. After a run of 100 amplifiers, the SA200 was discontinued due to an unfavorable exchange rate between the dollar and the Euro. However, it continued to gain cult status over the years among players, studios and engineers. Due to one of the most favorable exchange rates between the dollar and the Euro since then, we are pleased to announce a limited run of this wonderful amplifier.

The SA200 will be available for order direct from Sadowsky Guitars and from all Sadowsky Metro dealers in North America. Final details between Sadowsky and Koch are still being worked out, but there will be a new SA200 at the Sadowsky Booth #5948. The SA200 will sell for $2995.00.

I saw ads on a couple of European website for this earlier and one, a German site, had an almost understandable translation. It mentioned a few changes from the original 100 units made earlier. One was less weight (16 kg vs. 19 kg for the old) and some other, indecipherable technical change. My German skills are poor so I have no idea what it says. Looking online at Google Images, there was a shot of an old unit opened up and a new unit opened up. The new had one toroidal transformer and one regular transformer - excuse my lack of the correct technical name, I'm not much of an electronics guy! The old one has two toroidal transformers.

Any of you guys with more technical knowledge want to explain what that might mean or why that might be? Try to use short, simple words for people like me who are electronically challenged!

EDIT - I had that backwards! New one had one of each on at www.sessions.de
I just googled Sadowsky sa200 and searched only under the past year under search tools.

Agreed. The only problem I've had with it is that it solved my G.A.S permanently.

I was one of the guys lucky enough to get one of the first batch. I've played nothing else ever since. I've used it in hard rock settings, in Church, and at regional musical theater mimicking an upright tone. I've been thrilled with it in all of those locations.

I've gotten compliments, just in the past year ranging from "oh my God, you sound like you should be playing for Van Halen with that tone," to "I really thought they had put a string bass miced through the PA."

It's pretty likely that this will be the last amp I ever buy. It's certainly been the last in ten years.

I didn't see that reply on Facebook but if it is 35 lbs I'm not sure I can turn that down. Maybe I would do a comparison of the Boogie Prodigy vs this. If possible to save $1k and get 50 extra watts would be ideal.
