Under ideal conditions, Sads sound amazing but not necessarily what I would call a marquis tone. Thre are other basses that will do better.
There are other reasons like support and flawless construction but you can find that elsewhere as well.
But, under less than ideal conditions and downright crummy conditions where the room sucks, the PA sucks, the sound guy sucks, a Sadowsky will keep going when all the rest are long since mud, woof and boom.
Marquis cut and clarity. THAT is why you pay what you pay.
