Double Bass Salzman Symphony Rosin

One downside at rehearsal today: #9 does leave a LOT of powder on the strings

Agreed. Bought a cake of this stuff (#9) a few years ago and really wanted to like it. The product description really had me sold. But yes, I’ve tried this rosin with different bows/hairs/strings and it leaves a powdery mess on both the strings and the bass.

I keep coming back to my trusty cake of Kolstein soft.
