Same rig, different room/house - WOW!

I already loved my Carvin MB10 to begin with (1x10 w/ horn - 200W). I use a Squier Vintage Modified J bass with it. We just recently moved and I fired up my amp for the first time today. I was floored by the tone. I hadn't touched any of the settings/EQ - it was just in a much larger, open room. It was almost as if I got a new rig - I was pretty excited.

Anyways - just sayin....

I went the opposite way. Moved my rig from a heavily carpeted practice room to a room with hardwood floors and plaster walls. Where did all my tone go?!

Is the cab mounted, ie. off the floor, or coupled, ie. on the floor?
