San Diego Bassists

Count me in!
Been rockin' in Rancho Bernardo for 3 years now with my Ibanez Soundgear and a little 15 watt

Make that 2 of us for Rancho Bernardo. I'll have to let everyone know when my band is going to be on KOCT...just filmed the other week. Man did I tank my vocals too, ha ha, oh well.

10th show at Bar Leucadian and 16th at Dalton's (for Bike Night) off the 78. Come check out some originals if you are bored. Ok, we might play 1 or 2 covers in 2-3 hours, maybe. Can't wait to bring the newest family member to the show, lakland duck dunn.

I went to College with one of Nathan's younger brothers James. I remember that James was really stoked to see Mark King live. Back then he had a Fender Precision that was a hand me down from Nathan. It was only one semester but he was a good guy. And obviously a very good player also.

IIRC James lives in Fallbrook now and I know he's done a couple of things here in Temecula in this last year. He played at a friends church here a while back and then he did a benefit thing with a guitar playing co-worker of mine. Going to see if I can make the GTG.

jjk2007,

Thanks for the update on Nathan. I don't know if he'd remember me (we just had the one class together a long time ago) but I'd love to hook up with him again. Nice to see him still hanging locally.

My dad lives on one of the hills above Qualacom stadium, and my younger sister lives a few miles from there as well. Hoping to come out and visit them in late January/early February, and will definately want to visit Bass San Diego when I do. Perhaps I can meet one or two of y'all when I do; will post when I have dates in line and have some idea exactly what dates I'll be out there...

I live in Escondido. Been playing bass over 30 years. Still suck...been in lots of bands over the years, but not currently in one. Borderline old guy (46), but at least I still have all my hair!

I've been in SD for a pair of years, but never saw this thread. Am moving to the opposite end of the continent (Halifax, Nova Scotia) in a month, but will be at Barfly to check out your band on Thursday. Any chance you could throw some funk into the set list.

Funny that this semi-zombie thread has been resurrected just as I'm making the move from OC to San Diego! I'm another 40-something bass player, mostly classic rock and blues, now happily living in the Mt. Helix area. No band yet but Craigslist seems pretty active and I've got one audition lined up - wish me luck!

Any word on maybe another GTG?
