Sandberg Grand Dark

Long time lurker here.
Been playing around with the idea of getting a Sandberg Grand Dark bass lately.
It's easy to determine if you like a bass or not by holding and playing it. However, this fella seems to be quite rare in the shops at the moment (at least in Australia) and probably has to be blind ordered.
So I'm hoping to hear some advice from people who have tried it or own it.
Or anyone who feels that their opinion matters.
I'm in love with the looks and sound of it from the two youtube review videos that exist, but what about:
*The feel - e.g neck compared to a Fender jbass standard
*The scale - How easy is it to get used to the 35 inch scale?

Also appreciating any other comments concerning this bass

@Onusimi I have the Grand Dark and have owned it since August.

With regards the neck, it is very similar to a Fender Jazz in terms of profile and feel (i used to have a Fender Elite Jazz). Nut width is about 38mm.

I have 6 Sandbergs and primarily use the Grand Dark in Drop D tuning as the longer scale length works well. The difference between 34 and 35" is minor. I found that it hardly feels any different. I was surprised at how natural it felt to be honest. The bass is also well balanced.

The Pre-amp is also nice and 3-band so able to sculpt the tone. The

For the GD I decided on the San Remo Blue (not relic) as it looks great. See below.

The colour looks great, I never even considered the other options (heard they're coming out with an orange version soon).
Haven't decided on the roadworn-ness yet, I may be into some soft aging.
I think I got my mind set now!

The Orange Version is limited to 40 Basses. You will need to get an order in with a dealer if you want one. Probably me mid next year though. Bass Direct in the UK have a Black one for sale and they ship worldwide.

Was just wondering if you still like your Grand Dark? Do you find the 3-band control to be useful as it sounds with the mid control?

I’ve been really intrigued by this piece of machinery for awhile as well. Very rare. Just curious… did you ever pull the trigger and get one? If so, how does it sound?
