Sandberg strings on a Yamaha TRBX605

My Sandberg came with it's own stainless 40-128 strings which feels and sounds great on my Sandberg Ken Taylor. But as my Yamaha has almost identical physical specs I wanted to try the Sandberg strings on it for comparison so I "repurposed" the strings coming off the Sandberg as I put new strings on it.

Bottom line... I'm impressed with the Sandberg 40-128 SS's on the Yamaha. The 605 feels so close to the Sandberg that if I didn't love the Sandberg so much I'd have buyers remorse as Sandy costs 6x what the Yamaha cost. I'd be tempted to try these strings on my other basses except the tuning pegs are such that I can't swap/repurpose sets.

Have you tried any other SS rounds on the 605? What makes the Sandberg SS so special?

Very interesting... GHS Super Steels are what's on my Yamaha BB435 right now.

The 'berg strings are ok i guess. I went on a string journey with both of my 'bergs after they gave up the ghost. The TT5 ended up with EB Cobalts. My TM5 loves Savarez 40-130 with Cobalts a close second. All depends on what tone you're fishing for though.
