Anyone play their bass thru one of these live? Comments on the Marshall setting(s)?

haven't actually used one live... i use the programmable bass driver sansamp. but i've tested one out, and it definitely kicks some major butt. i'll be getting one in the near future, i think (for studio, mostly...).

i'm sure it would be a fantastic live tool.

I used gt2 a few years ago(may have been the gt1?). The british(mashall) model sounded good - cuts through nicely not much low end loss. I used it in an alternative band and it worked well for heavy sections and when the guitarist soloed. I didn't use the other setting very often. I would imagine that eh marshall setting on the classic is similar. Hope this helps.

I've used mine (the one with 8 dipswitches) live a few times. I liked how it sounded. YMMV of course. Now I use my Fulltone Bassdrive though. I haven't been disappointed.

I used it on accasions. It has a nice bass setting, sounding similar to an old bassman.
The Bassdriver does a much better job though and I prefer to use another box for distortion.

How are you thinking of using it?

IMO they work very well recorded with the 'British' settings but just don't sound right live when used inline with a bass amp. DI might be different, I can't comment on that route since I've not tried it.

I'm playing a passive 5'r thru an Avalon or Sabddi di live; no amps on stage. We had a guest sound engineer and he used an amp modeler of some sort, and I listened to the recording he made for us; the "Marshall" setting sounded fabulous.
