Sansamp/Ampeg settings help!?

Hey guys,

I just brought a Sansamp Bass Driver DI (it's not the new re-issue one), i have a ESP LTD Viper-104 Bass, a Ampeg B-1RE head and a Ampeg SVT-410HLF Cabinet.

I was getting an ok tone out at some point, but there was many weird and unpleasing noises coming out as well when i was tryna make it sound better.

I was hoping to achieve a heavy tone similar to bands Hatebreed, Terror etc...

help anyone?

thanks

Flatten all of the knobs first off. Keep your bass tone knobs flat - don't boost everything on your bass right away. Flaten your B-2RE knobs too. Keep in mind that when you use the BDDI pedal - it's best to let this unit do most of your tone shaping first off. Learn how this unit effects your tone. If you boost the treble and bass knobs on the pedal, the midrange content of your signal will be lost. I suggest turning the drive all the way up, put the blend at around 2 o' clock and see what you get. Keep in mid that you should keep the midrange flat on your amp so you can still have some definition in your signal - if you cut too much midrange in your signal, you will not be heard over the guitars.

Spend some time with the manual and remember a little tweak of the knobs goes a long way.
