Sansamp BDDI v2 blend setting

I rarely use it any more, but when I do: Zero. I used to use it with treble full CCW, and/or a slight bass cut at the 40 Hz setting to clean up the bottom end a bit. Those settings were pickup-dependent.

OT and IMO, the unit in bypass mode does a fantastic job as a straight-ahead active DI. And if you have the level control set at full CCW, it also doubles as a mute switch.

Lots of blend. This is where the Sansamp sound is. Without, it just sounds like a plain preamp and doesn’t have the same punch. That’s just me though.

Agreed. Don’t have the BDDI version yet, but the amp/cab simulation is what’s making me want one. Otherwise I’d just go straight to my audio interface or just use my amp’s DI out for FOH. Pedal’s drive is also part of the Sansamp circuitry. I will say I never liked Sansamp pedals going into my amp’s preamp (I had VT Bass v1 and v2) as the whole amp/cab sim thing muddies my amp up IMO but it excells at going straight to FOH.

same, noon or 1/2 o’clock max. Any higher and it’s all lows and highs, with not much in the mids.

That’s what the EQ controls are for: the BDDI circuit is much more interactive than a lot of other preamps, don’t be afraid to max the blend and experiment with dramatic treble or bass cuts to find your preferred tone.

Just curious how much blend you are using on your Sansamp bddi v2?

For years my preferred setting was Blend at around 9-10 o’clock, all other controls around noon.

These days my preferred setting is Blend max, Treble around 9 o’clock, all other controls around noon with the Drive or Presence possibly pushed up around 1-2 o’clock.

Never really thought of it that way. When Blend is to high, I always found there’s too much lows and highs, but I don’t automatically think about cutting on the EQ.

I used to set it 3-4 o'clock but after fiddling around realized that setting was not much different then when it was maxed out, so now I just max it out. But I use my BDDI because I love it's baked in tone, if I didn't I would roll back Blend and Presence considerably.

I’m new to the BDDIv2. Only had it a few months. Right now it’s between 10 & 11 o’clock.
The challenge I’m having is it’s being tasked to two different jobs.
1. Live sound in front of my amp
2. Direct for either PA or most often to the DAW that’s recording all rehearsal.

I need both to sound good. I’m getting there but it’s taking time.

I am super curious about increasing the blend but I’ll need to experiment with it.

This is still new to me and things may change but so far liking
Blend max
Treble 12:00
Presence 12:00
Drive 1:00
Mids 2:00 with button pressed in
Bass 10:00 with button pressed in

For me it totally depends on what I’m doing. I don’t use it much anymore, but it is actually pretty flexible and there’s lots of sounds within that box. Sometimes I’ll have it at 9, other times dimmed. Part of me wants to return back to that and a tuner… life was so much simpler then
