Sansamp+Crown

Hi, I need to get a bigger rig, and I wanted to ask if I could use my Sansamp di as a preamp for a poweramp like a crown or something? I know that people do this with a rackmounted unit but what about a stompbox? I have found websites that have alluded to this being done, but with no details. I use the sansamp regardless of what I am plugging into..so I think if people do this..then it is probably a good choice for me.

If it does work does it sound cruddy?

The newer sansamps have a live level switch to work with a poweramp.

you can have it modified to have a higher output. it's just not going to be switchable.
