SansAmp news from NAMM

Wait, what is the blend knob for?

Just got mine. Blend is just what it says... you can blend the raw input signal with the VT output. With the blend all the way on, it is all VT.

Nice pedal... good quality, lots of Ampeg-like clean and overdriven tones, and 'high output settings' for both the 1/4" and XLR to drive most power amps nicely if you want to use it as your primary preamp. The 'brite control' does that super Ampeg bright crunch tone if you want it.

I'm thinking about ordering one of these down the road. I always enjoyed blending with the BDDI, with the exception that Sansamp side of the signal was always a bit to extreme, so I had to fight with blending just enough in to make things sound good. With the VT I think this wouldn't be quite as difficult since it's easy to get a great sounding tone on the VT all by itself.

I like the 'super boost' switches on both the XLR and 1/4" output in case you want to drive a power amp directly. Pretty cool. If it had a semi-parametric mid, it would be perfect. Nice features, decent quality, good price, and it does really cop the classic Ampeg tone. I also like the blend.... basically another tone control in some ways.

Just got mine. I plan to split my recording signal with an Avalon U5. Producers get so scared of a little dirt so this will be a good way to give them more options.

Sweetwater included a nice small bag of assorted candy, maybe they were sorry the product took so long? :P I wish I got a Reese's in there though!
I think the candy thrown in the box is standard at Sweetwater. I recall that all my orders have had it. IMO it is a cool idea.
