SansAmp Para Driver Review

Just got the pedal.
I must say I am very impressed. I played with it on my practice rig (Jazz bass -> Behringer bx3000t -> into the effects return -> into avatar C115 + a Peavey 112 wedge monitor). What a great sound! Very, very nice indeed! Nice and fat on just about all settings. Distortions are great, SVT setting very convincing. I even A/B it with my mid 70's SVT, and ... well, of course the SVT sounded better!!!
I have only had about 2 hours with it, and haven't used it in a live situation through a PA and all the rest, but at this point I am pretty pumped!
The PDDI is very warm sounding and very expressive, and the midrange adjustment makes a huge difference. Those who are familiar with vintage SVTs know that you can dial out some treble with the mid knob - and this pedal incidentally replicates that, too.
All in all I would have to say it's a kick ass pedal, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it at this point.

Coincidentally, I had ordered one of the Behringer V-tone BDDI clones, and I must say - what a piece of junk. :hiding: Please save your $30! :spit: I don't know what I am going to do with it. It is a tone-sucking device. All the settings sound roughly the same, and I can barely get it to distort! Very weak. Not even close to the BDDI (I have owned two of them in the past).:scowl:
