but even without the overdrive on the sansamp i still love the tone i get out of it. with something to add the distortion it will be perfect.

i think the AGRO would work well and you can run it in parallel with the RBI if you want to (similar to how i do with my RBI/RPM) which i think would work very well. take the unaffected out on the back into the AGRO and take the output from the AGRO back into the effects return of the RBI with the 50/50 switch engaged. voila!

Very cool! Congrats on the RPM! Thank You for the kind words regarding the clips. I'm having fun making a few clips, it's also helping me get familiar with recording the RPM - what works, what doesn't, etc. This clip is a 50/50 mix of the RPM's distortion blended with an unaffected bass signal (taken from the back of the RPM). Both signals are then combined through a cheap little mixer into my soundcard.
The clip is a very bastardized version of Malignant Narcissism (Snakes & Arrows). Please everyone - be kind. I've not really "learned" the song. I don't have a fretless and I sure as heck don't have Geddy's talent. It's played incorrectly, but it was recorded on the RPM nonetheless. Try to enjoy.

Thank You Sir! Apart from being a kick ass preamp, I'm finding the RPM is making me crave playing even more - the tones it delivers are very inspiring to say the least. It's not every piece of equipment that can do that. Thanks again.

One of my bands recorded a demo tonight... err, last night. If I'd known I was going to be mic'd as well as DI'd, I'd have run home and got the RPM to run thru my NV610. Oh well, I've got rehearsal tomorrow night... I mean, tonight. Preliminary review forthcoming.
