To be honest, I didn't ask.They didn’t give you the option to swap for another?
Without having the pedal in our possession it's difficult to say. We have not received any repair/replace requests from any US dealers at this time. The pedal could have been damaged in shipping or dropped etc. Hopefully it's a one off.
Not to doubt the OP, but there is also the possibility that there was nothing wrong with the unit. Just the past two weeks I had to contact 4 customers to tell them that we couldn't find any issue with their pedals. This happens quite often.
