Savarez Bass Strings

Has anyone tried or uses Savarez bass strings? More curious than anything. Seems like they have a prolific history in string making.

Never tried their electric bass strings but have used their upright strings a few times, actually have a set on my backup bass right now. I know they’re made with different types of equipment, but the upright strings seem well made and they sound good.

I've been running the 40,60,80,100,130 set on my Sandberg. Very nice strings. Last a fairly long time. Not sure what it is about them but I prefer them over the same gauges I've built in Daddario's. B string seems to have better definition than the D'addarios. Atleast on my 'berg.

How do they compare to the D'Addarios in terms of tension and flexibility?

I see some balanced tension sets on offer, which is very cool IMO.

I'm on a kick of trying different nickel sets as I've been on D'addario balanced nickels for a few years now. I see Strings By Mail stocks a couple sets, I might ask if they have plans to sell any others.

Very close if I recall correctly. Close enough that i didnt notice much difference. I built the same set using S.I.T and those were much stiffer.

I take it those were Rock Brights or Powerwounds?

Yeah they were fusion wound which is what i think they used to call rock brights.

One last question - how did the Savarez strings feel compared to the D'Addarios? I know the D'Ads are supposed to be one of the smoothest NPS strings out there.

I currently have my Sandberg strung with D'add's 40-130 bc Stringsbymail was out of my Savarez in that gauge. They feel about the same iirc. The D'add's may be a tad smoother but not much.
