SBK Bass Case Issue

I just purchased the SBK Deluxe Bass Case for my new Musicman Ray 34. Before purchasing, I noticed that the bass head appears to stick up slightly above the case closing point. When the case is closed, the head seems to fit within the notch that is cut out on the top of the case. Anyone else run into this issue? The salesman said it was a good fit, but I'm looking for another opinion.

If the headstock sticks up slightly above the closing point, and there is a cut-out in the lid section = no problem = it was designed that way. As long as you're not having to apply pressure to close the case, you're good. And, if the bass does not move around when the case is closed - test this by shaking case back and fourth, you're good. So, I wouldn't call this an "issue" - it's more like the way it was designed.
