I’m gonna attempt this to keep me occupied and busy.

ASSEMBLY BUILD

Here are the basic parts. Things could change a bit, as I have a lot of stuff here… so I might sub. Pickups could be chrome t-bird pickups that are supposedly in the mail…. If not, I have EMG T-Bird pickups here. Could do two Thunderbird pickups, could do a P pickup and a T-Bird, haven’t decided. Square heel telecaster bass neck, round heel body…. I have a solution that should work for that.


anyway, Rando parts shot below.

i have blood tests and appointments tomorrow
, and head to the farm Saturday… so probably won’t get a start till next week sometime.

my three goals for this are…
1) keep my mind occupied and my hands working
2) interact with the awesome people here
3) hopefully have a cool bass at the end of it all

yada yada, etc etc

Well, certainly starting this off slowly….

had blood work and oncology visit again today…

My white blood cell count is once again almost non-existent…. So quarantine, antibiotics, and shots to cause my bone marrow to produce more white blood cells.

ugh….

so I’m sure it’s gonna be another week or more before I’m feeling well enough to do anything. Sorry. If I get feeling better I’ll definitely update the tread and try to get stuff done….

in the meantime, I’ll be watching y’all’s build threads !

I recently lost my dad to cancer and my mom is on her last leg as well, so I really feel you. Its awesome that you still have the energy to build and have a positive vibe. That carries a long way.

I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. Yeah, cancer is a terrible thing and I would never wish it on anybody. All we can do is keep fighting…

Lots of love to you, and I hope you have an amazing amazing weekend!

PS: the time we spend with our loved ones matters . I always try to minimize regrets. Sometimes it’s tough to make things work in the schedule, but you never know when the last time you are going to see someone is…

I say this more as a reminder to myself than anything else.

Thank you! You're absolutely right, loved ones are so, so important. I'm fortunate I got to work and play with my dad. We played in the same bands for almost 15 years. He played the saxophone and had an amazing mark VI Selmer tenor. Now it waits if someone of his grandkids will pick it up.
I'm terrified what happens when my mom dies, though. She's been our rock (and the source of many therapy sessions).
This got heavy.
Lots of love to you as well!

Which Tbird pickups are you getting?

I had one in my J shaped object. I later bought some Bartolini Tbird pickups and wanted to try one out.
I was doing some recording with my band, so I recorded part of a bass track with the EY, then swapped in a Bart and recorded the same. IMO how a pickup sounds in a mix is key.
I posted the recordings in the Tbird club.
There seems to be a consensus that Barts are dark and EYs are a bit thin sounding.
But nobody in the club guessed which was which:D
