Bummer. It looks like the grain is running across the thumb rest (top to bottom) and not along the length of the piece. If you make a new one, make sure that you are using long grain. That should be much more stable..... and the sad news: just after that last post, I broke my thumb rest.
I must have over-tightened a screw.
