Schecter Bass Customization X2

I bought a Schecter Diamond J bass a few days ago. The main reason I bought this bass was for the neck. I wanted to put it on my Schecter Robert DeLeo signature Model T bass because it had a maple fretboard and I'm not a fan of maple. I originally wasn't even going to keep the Diamond J. I was gonna put the neck from my DeLeo bass on it and sell it, but now after getting it put together I like it and I'm going to keep it, for now anyway. I think both basses turned out better after this swap. They both look better and the necks seem to work better with pickups in that bass. Anyway here are the pics, even though I know you looked at them before reading this.

The angle of some pics make it look like the G string is really close to the edge of the neck. It's not and this pic is a much better shot of it.

They do look better after the swap. I'm with you, I prefer rosewood to maple but that J looks really nice with maple. How's the quality of the Diamond J? How do they achieve hum canceling?

I guess the pickups are stacked humbuckers. All I did was remove the neck. I didn't remove the pickguard and look at the wiring. I guess I should have while it was a part. As for quality, I like it alot better than the Fender Mexican Jazz Bass I used to own. Everything about it is just as good or better than the Fender. The big thing is it's easier to play. Right out of the box it played better than the Fender did and the Fender had been setup right, too. The Schecter just feels better for some reason.

I guess you're refering to the Diamond J. Alot of people like the white body, black pickguard, maple fretboard combo. I took it in to my local guitar shop to show it to the guy that runs it and a customer that was there loved it. He wanted to order one, but then we told him they were not availible with the maple fretboard and he didn't want one. I think Schecter should do the fretboard options like Fender does. You can get pretty much any Fender with either maple or rosewood fretboards.

I like it. But I like it before the swap too. For me a P with a maple board is more natural. probably because every P I've owned has been that way and every J has been rosewood.

I have a Model T with the rosewood board. I'd like to try a Warmoth birdseye maple neck, but I'm not sure it would fit. anyone have any input here?
