just get real emg's I had some no name bass with passive pup's and active controls and just gutted them all and put emg's in and had them wired up with a single volume and loved it . This way I could change basses(for diffrent tuning) and my tone would reley less on my bass and more on my amp.
what do you like and or dislike about your current sound ? I had all my old basses set up with the emg's and one vol for playin in a metal band and I needed an even tone I got rid of all those basses though . I currently own a schecter of the same with the flame maple top and I have it in the shop this week to remove the blend knob and have a mid control installed that is another option and a less expensive one too
If you really want help you're going to need to get very descriptive about what you have now sound-wise, what you feel you're lacking sound-wise, and what you're looking for sound-wise.
If you're not willing or capable of describing these things any suggestions you get will be 90% hit and miss.
